Extra feature for imported picture with simple copy/past from windows

It possible to copy/past (or drag and drop) a picture from windows folder (or internet ...) but then that picture cannot be cropped as when using the "drawing tool". 
I WISH  a "CROPPING" option. Or the possibility to change that picture into a drawing so I get the same option than with drawing tool. 
The "drawing tool" work fine but it's long and annoying to search in deep folder.

@KevinJ The same issue exists on Mac's too. Scaling, cropping and soforth are all different for pasted photos vs placed photos. It's a strange shortcoming.

To be honest, I use picture tool only for placing company logo on layout template. In all other instances, I'm using drawing tool primarily because I'm able then to crop picture or that it is linked to a file so in case it is changed, it will change in AC too.

But I agree that some simpler proces or upgraded picture tool where cropping is available would be great.

Thing is that in our company we use also dropbox, and somehow well organized with lot of folder in folder ... the path to the file is so long it just get annoying. Itš a small thing but cropping is also a small feature !
