View Map - view publication marker

When there are a lot of views in the View Map, it would be nice if ArchiCAD somehow marked views that are inserted somewhere on sheets or simply intended for publication as views.
Thanks to this, a user cleaning the View Map would not accidentally delete such a view.
All you need is a small symbol next to the view, for example a gray Layout icon in front of the View, or a gray paperclip icon, or something else...:

This is one of the most useful features I've seen so far. Totally agree

Also seems useful feature to me. Paper clip icon would be better as views can also be directly linked to publisher set. Or maybe icon could be differentiated based on what the view is linked to.

Currently I'm using Python script to find unlinked views.

Status changed to: On roadmap
Hi All.

Thanks for this wish and feedback, we are working on the ability to show unused views in an upcoming release of Archicad. This is already on our public roadmap here (https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Product-Roadmap/Search-function-for-unused-views/idi-p/632807).

Thanks for your continued contribution, and keep it coming.

Interesting idea, I support it if GS has nothing better to do, however it's easily achieved by doing a view index.
It's not so instant, but works.
My issue is that by adding a marker that indicates wether a view was already placed on a sheet, it does not mean that:

- Users will know what that marker means

- The view was placed onto the right sheet

- The view was really intended for documentation or it was just a sketch

The documentation method we use is such that in the working folders of the view map only those views should exist that are intended for documentation

It takes a bit of policing, but not too hard, once people understand how much easier their life is if there is some order in the view map.

I won't deny that Graphisoft's solution in Ac29 on this topic disappointed me. 😞

Filtering and marking unused/unused views on View Index?
It's like "holding your left ear with your right hand behind your head" 🙂 to simply QUICKLY check whether a view is placed on layout or added to Publisher Set.

I advocated for simple, intuitive/graphical/visual information in the view navigator (some kind of marker next to "published views", etc.). That's all!

Okay, filtering unpublished/unpublished views on View Index will probably come in handy someday, but how do you example filter the list (and then mark them in the Navigator panel) that meet logically related criteria, e.g.:
- views placed on layout AND added to Publisher Set?
- views placed on layout OR added to Publisher Set?
- views NOT placed on layout AND NOT added to Publisher Set?
- ...
etc.

...not to mention that reasonable Archicad users would use a template. Templates by default would have plenty of unused / sample views by default...
