pasted text size differs from source text

when copying text that is say 1.8mm if i zoom out or in and paste the text into an adjacent textbox or label the resulting pasted text size is instead 1.7489mm (it tends to vary depending on zoom level.How do i fix this so i dont constantly have to correct pasted text size, ...
