was genuinely excited when I heard that Archicad was getting official MCP support. The idea of using AI to interact with and modify a BIM model sounded incredibly promising.
But after trying it, I'm honestly extremely disappointed.
You can't even create a wall.
Is anyone else disappointed with the current implementation? And has anyone had success using Tapir MCP instead? - which is so SAD by the way. GH literally can not do 1 thing right.

Hello,
Could you please specify which workflows you tried? can you also elaborate why would you need the AI to create walls for you, so in which workflows you would need such a tool?
Please note, that we will release more MCP tools at the end of October and at the end of November, which will contain tools that support 3D modelling elements, and possibly 2D annotation elements as well.

Hello Mohamed. Is this GS' first day on the internet discovering AI? I have tried Codex from open AI and the MCP is so limiting it is almost worrying how ignorant was your product team. It seems like you do 0 research at GS.
Let's look at Rhino MCP for a moment. It was released MONTHS before AI has reached your product geniouses at GS.
Even UNOFFICIAL integration TAPIR has more functionality. This is not a workflow we had before it is something completely new. Why would you limit it to the point is is useless? Like sure I can look things up and extract some data. I could do that before...

Am I delusional and asking for so too much? I have been paying 200e/month for you guys to not even look outside the window it seems like.
Sorry for my sharp tone. Nothing personal.

"can you also elaborate why would you need the AI to create walls for you" sums it up nicely i think..

Hi @Mohamed Raslan, there are actually so many ways this workflow could be useful. For instance, I often work on renovation or interior refurbishment projects where I have to redraw the existing layout based on old plans—often just scans of hand-drawn projects. It would be amazing if, given how many advanced AI agents(ad example ChatGPT Astra) have good skills at understanding and redrawing floor plans, Archicad could then translate those outputs into native elements.

Which license do you have?
Archicad 30 Perpetual? Studio? Collaborate?

"can you also elaborate why would you need the AI to create walls for you"
That is the perfect example of ignorant answers we get from GS. From architects for architects...

MCP in Archicad is still in Beta, and we are continually working on expanding its capabilities - we plan to deliver improvements automatically (no installation is required) and periodically (ie every few months).
We have focused in the first round on mass/batch editing, like modifying properties/parameters of elements or unifying inconsistencies; checking model quality, like polygon count or finding elements far from origin; checking, creating and editing data (including keynotes, classifications and properties) and more. As we gather your feedback, we will continue to improve the MCP in more areas including element creation and annotation/documentation. Deletion of elements and data we are currently caution about, to avoid any user accidentally causing serious data loss in projects. With any request through MCP, we do ask before executing the commands, to always put you in control.
You can find more details on currently suggested workflows here - https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/30/INT/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0#rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&t=Topics%2F001...

Unfortunately the tone is definitely not constructive! But regardless, since you are very well aware about the new AI advancements.
Then you should also know that 3D spatial reasoning through LLMs was only possible in the past few weeks through the frontier models like Claude OPUS 5.5 and GPT Astra. Before these two models were released, all our research and experiments showed that adding 3D modeling tools (like walls) will be unreliable and will result in unviable generations.
Now that this is finally possible through the frontier models. We are reacting by implementing a new set of MCP tools that support 3D modeling, which will be part of the upcoming few weeks seamless addon release.
This means that when you receive a notification that these tools are available, all you will need is to restart Archicad after 24 hours and you will be able to access those new tools without installing any new packages.
You have to also understand that there are many aspects to consider when developing solutions for users at scale. And Daily Active Users (DAU) is one of those aspects, so while you could possible use AI to rebuild/ 3D model a floor plan, or an early concept, you would do this how many times a year. I doubt that you will do this daily, and this is one of the reasons why we decided to release in the first rollout, the MCP tools that can be used by the majority, most of the time.
