You guys might want to check this out, I think it is a pretty cool development of BIMx.
It is called BIMx Docs and integrates 2D and 3D Viewing with hyperlinks:

From now on you can save more than just one model in your BIMx file.
Hi Daniel,

Not sure I follow. Maybe there was something I missed in the explanatory videos. Could you explain please?

You can produce the BIMx Hyper-model by creating a publisher set in the Navigator palette, right? Once you have this setted up, you can drag your layouts and views into this publisher set.

As you can set up multiple views for floor plans, you can set up multiple 3D views as well (with different layer combinations, renovation filters, structure display options, etc.). Then you can drag all of these 3D views into your set and publish these into one single BIMx Hyper-model.

In this case you will see all of these views as separate models in the viewer.
These models can be independently updated as well!

One single file, several updatable 3D models for free.

But ONLY on your iPad.... All that presentation power and squished onto a napkin....

Don't get me wrong... I love the new scheme... but now it's not only the $50. viewer to see the stuff I can create... I've got to upgrade my iPad 1 as it is insufficient to handle the required iOS... [.... and there's no way to view it on my machine that created it]

Guess that's what it takes to play with the big boys...

Hi Duane,

I see your point.
However, FYI: "BIMx Docs will be released for Android devices in 2014" as it is noted on http://www.graphisoft.com/bimx

I could be wrong but believe his point was more to do with the inability to view (or use) BIMx Hypermodels on the desktop version (Mac or PC) instead of only just tablets, rather than it was specifically to do with the availability on the Android platform (still valid nonetheless).

Which would limit the possibility of using or showing BIMx Hypermodels in office meetings for example (if you don't have a HDMI capable tablet to use with projectors, for instance).

Not to mention the screwy workflow... I can CREATE the BiMx Docs but CAN'T CHECK THEM before sending the link out without borrowing someone's iPad first?

I am an AC17 SOLO user - just had a hotfix that includes the new (and amazing) BIMx Docs - great! I'm on the Win7 64-bit platform

I can now export BIMx docs as a hyper model, but there is no way for me to actually see this I do not use or have or want to have an iPad so what is the point of it??

So (unless I am missing something) the whole of the BIMx concept is linked into iPad ONLY and is then going to be extended to Android - what about being able to see my own BIMx on my Win7 desktop

Give me back the old BIMx and I will be able to use it - sort it our GS!

I gave a BIMx Hypermodel to a client of me.
He had to pay the 5 Euro for the ADDin App.
His reply:
"Hallo Herr Sühlo,
ich bin begeistert, was heute so möglich ist!
Da gibt man gerne die 5 € aus."

(Hello Mr. Sühlo,
I am excited about what is possible today!
But I like to spend the € 5.)

Old BIMx never left. Same as always, nothing lost. It is only if you do the hypermodel thing that it is only viewable on a tablet - iPad now, Android later.

They DID change the File menu options though. Where before, it was File > Export to BIMx for a 'normal' BIMx (3D only model)... that option is now File > Save As > Bimx

However, I agree with Duane that it would be useful to be able to view the hyperdoc on the desktop - and even send it to a client's desktop.

Thank you Karl - I was missing this small change
BIMx is still there, but i would also reiterate - I need to see the Hyper Model on my desktop before sending out to a client, otherwise I am working blind
