License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We printed a 3D model of one of our projects that required a physical model for design review. It worked great and was quite affordable (considering the alternative).

I used the model straight from archicad. I saved a .wrl file out of the 3D window. It saves the .wrl in meters so you need to do some conversions to get it at the right scale. At 1/8" = 1' we were able to get some nice detail (6x6 rafter tails on the eaves and sloped window sills in thick walls. I had to back up all my windows and doors with extra walls and "punched holes in any ceilings and floors to allow them to recycle un-used media (they charge partially on media used)

I wouldn't imagine very many people would be in the market for buying one of the printers. We sent our archicad model to a company that uses the printer for producing proto-types. Printing a 3D model of a 7000 sq ft house at 1/8" scale was about $800.

Did you simplify the model before printing in ArchiCAD?

Was the model processed outside of ArchiCAD before printing?
