Overlapping lines and invisible entities in AutoCAD

How do I get rid of numerous overlapping entities, dots and invisible objects that appear in the drawing after importing from ArchiCAD?

I am using ArchiCAD 12 with AutoCAD 2007.

Early help appreciated.

The dots are from unloaded library parts.
As to overlapping fills and linework you can use the consolidation commands under
Edit>Reshape> Unify, fill consolidation & Linework consolidation. The help menu>archicad help will take you to the sections of the manual that will explain these.
