Has anyone seen this?

What do you think?

Is the workflow smoother or faster that the latest Archicad release?

The rendering to me is a non-issue. Productivity is why I used to use Archicad and why I am looking to go back to a 2-d/3-d program.

I think you are then pretty well in ArchiCAD because it lets you create your design at the level of 2D/3D you want.
You can model things only to the degree you want, you can unlink Sections/Elevations etc. to continue to work in them in 2D. You can use Worksheets to do any kind of 2D.
At the same time, you can use ArchiCAD fully 3D.
So it is really up to you and ArchiCAD lets you do it.

Hi William,

How long have you actually used AC? If it's only a few months, then you'll have to give it some time. I came to AC after many years in the 2D world and, just prior to the switch, was using Skethup for 3D and vanilla AutoCAD for general draughting. For quite a while, I was so slow with AC that I was often tempted to switch back for urgent drawings. Resist that temptation and soon you'll be happier for it.

Working as a one-man-show with nobody to do my draughting, I find that I can complete my drawing work much faster and (more importantly) with greater accuracy. This, in turn, helps me take on more projects than I would otherwise have been able to handle.

This is not to say that I've completely abandoned 2d work - or sketchup either. But I've hardly touched either of them in quite a while.

Hope this helps.
