If Tom Walts doesnt have the answer, i guess there is no answer.
3D import is not my strong point... I just thought Drag/drop only worked on 2D.

Dragging and dropping will simply bring it in as a Drawing in AC10, so there'll be no 3D content. There never was anyway, using drag & drop.

Nikola's image shows up with an empty preview because it is set to Preview Picture and such a preview is not made automatically. You'll need to change the preview to one of the 3D options to see anything in 3D. Or open the 3D View. The method is correct in theory, not sure why these things sometimes don't work. Try it with the attached test mesh if you like, I know it works, here at least.

Cheers,

After that i get a 3d script window which seems to be empty (as shown on the pic).
Your screenshot does not show an empty 3D script window.

What you show there is, as Link notes:
(1) the rendered preview is selected at the top - which will always be empty for new objects, and
(2) the parameter list (not script)

Opening a dwg as a GDL object is the only way to obtain the 3D content, and I have never had it fail. (Frequently, it is ugly as triangularization lines will be visible, unlike 3DS import with smoothing.)

Post your dwg file and one of us will see if there is a mysterious problem with it. My guess is that the boxes are not basic AutoCAD surfaces --- but rather ObjectArx or some other proprietory objects, which ArchiCAD cannot convert - you have to explode or whatever it is called in AutoCAD to convert to primitives in the dwg.)

Karl
