Saving file for a 3D Printer

Not applicable
I am trying to save a file from the 3D window as something that a 3D printer can read. The 3D printer I am using reads .sdl files. I have saved this file to Google SketchUp and from there saved it as an .sdl file but it seems to be corrupted. Is there another more direct way to create a file for a 3D printer from ArchiCad? Thanks for any help.

It's been a while since I have done it but I have done this by saving a .3ds file and then opening that in Rhino and then saving it as the .sdl format. I actually didn't have Rhino so the the lab converted it for me. Worked great, but it was a few years ago so I'm not sure if that method is still viable.
