Square Yard Unit of Measure

Anonymous
Not applicable
In Options>Project Preferences>Dimensions or Calculation Units, there is not an option for settings to calculate or display Square Yards.

In the US it is a very common way of referring to interior floor finish areas, asphalt paving areas, and landscaping areas units of measure.

Is there a way to set this unit of measure in dimensions for area or as a calculation unit?

I'm not at the right computer (no AC on this one), but you should be able to do that under the data base units. I pull off concrete in cu. yds. etc, but you would need to set up a property object referencing the data base quantities. I think there are many data base references to carpet, asphalt etc that you can easily use to extract the info from. There may be an easier way too, but this is how I have been doing it for material list.

If this is helpful, but not helpful enough, I can check it out when I get to the right computer.

I had discovered that it is possible to set up a calculation via a data set but i was hoping that it was be possible to create a basic option for a for Square Yards directly in the DIMENSION or CALCULATION UNITS. I'll go ahead and make this a wish.

You can. Like this.

ArchiCAD 25 7000 USA - Windows 10 Pro 64x - Dell 7720 64 GB 2400MHz ECC - Xeon E3 1535M v6 4.20GHz - (2) 1TB M.2 PCIe Class 50 SSD's - 17.3" UHD IPS (3840x2160) - Nvidia Quadro P5000 16GB GDDR5 - Maxwell Studio/Render 5.2.1.49- Multilight 2 - Adobe Acrobat Pro - ArchiCAD 6 -25

schedules are in cubic yards as determined by the calculation units setting.

Just a slight difference between square and cubic there mate.

Cheers,

Yes. I did not read the post well enough to see that.
