Window and Door Schedule notation

is there any way to make the notation in the door and window schedule read like 2'-0" instead of just 2'? you can do this on the dimensions, so i would think you can on the schedules as well.

any help would be appreciated.

Not directly, no.

I actually re-scripted the set of doors we use to have a parameter that is formatted correctly that the scheduler can read.

It's been a wish list item for as long as I can remember,

This is what I've done.

Well, as long as I've been on the forum, anyway: VOTE

is there a simple way to re-script doors and windows to do that? do they have to be archicad doors and windows? i ask this because some of the doors and windows we use are through the door and window builder 35 program, so i don't know what the scripting options are on that.

it's not a huge deal, but as i said, if there's a simple method to do so, it would be nice to know it.

thanks.

It's as easy as adding a parameter to the list them doing a little STR work in the Parameters script. The annoying part is that you have to do it to every door object.

I think Door & Window Builder locks their scripts, so you would not be able to do it on them.

Unfortunately, you can't edit the scripts of the DWB objects, so it's not possible (this is one reason why we don't use the Door portion of this add-on).

It's simple if you understand GDL -- if you do not, it's a bit complex to explain.

unfortunately i do not understand GDL (nor know what that even means) so i guess the schedules will stay how they are. but as i said, it's not a big deal. is there by chance a website or old thread on here that explains how to do such a thing? it would be good to know for later use.

Also, I don't think door and window builder is compatible with the interactive scheduler in archicad...seems like you need to use their provided list routine to schedule doors and windows. Can someone who knows please comment on this?

Thanks,

Actually -- yes, this is true -- but if you could edit their scripts, you could make them compatible.
