Area of Horizontal Projection of Mesh?

Not applicable
Hi,
Is it possible to Calculate with IS the Area of Horizontal Projection of a Mesh?
Thanks,
Joseph

No reply,
So how does every one else calculates the area of a site (land) short of using a calculator?
Thanks,
Joseph

Magicwand to a fill with the area text turned on?

ArchiCAD since 4.55 ... 1995
HP Omen
You can use Window > Palettes > Element Information to list the area of the mesh -- is this what you want?

This area is exactly the result I am looking for, but I was hoping could extract this value from the Mesh itself into IS. Trying to avoid having extra elements on top of each other so when Mesh is edited do not have to deal with a fill also or easer time with selecting what I want.
Thanks,
joseph
It looks to me you can with the "Area" parameter.

I have tried that parameter before but I get zero for area when the mesh surface is not level?! What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks,
Joseph
Huh -- I do not know. The bottom 2 meshes of my example were flat, and listed just fine (as you can see).

I just made my Mesh #2 NOT flat and for area did NOT give me Area=o, must be a setting in my Mesh #1 that prevents the Area calculation figure that one out!
Thanks,
