Wall Framing Counts

Anonymous
Not applicable
If the Wall Framing tool can do a semi-decent job of framing a wall for you, why am I unable to get the count of that framing? Am I missing something. I would like a count of studs, lengths, headers, top plate(s) and sole plate.

Is this information available to pull from the IS? It would seem to me that if it can draw it, it should be able to track the qty. Am I missing something?

you could try the cadimage wall framing add-on if you're looking for something more than a semi-decent job that produces cutting lists for you as well...

the add-on...

Have you tried making a Property Object for a wall? That will easily (well, nothing is easy w/ the calc schedule) give you an order list. I will paste a screen shot. It want add in headers, but in my opinion a bunch of 4'=3", 3'-9" etc headers doesn't help much anyway.. it's not like a carpenter will cut from a list like that anyway:) I count the openings and manually place (on a listing layer) 2x10x16's off to the side so when I run a material list it will give something that actually allows someone to order materials from.
