3d Grid visibility and opacity - annoying bug!

I've just got a minor glitch that is annoying the hell out off me, and it seems to affect other users around the office. We are all hoping that there might be a solution.

When viewing a building in 3d there is the option to turn the dynamic grid on and off, we as standard have ours turned on 90% of the time. But often the settings on the grid resets from the nice (and useful) transparent setting to a solid plane.

When we then go back and change the settings its fine again until the next time someone moves from plan view to 3d view, either using the quick change keys or the toolbar buttons. At which point this reset the colour and opacity of the grid.

Is there somewhere in the custom profiles or work environments that i need to change this setting to keep it permenantly transparent?

Its also worth saying that we work on a set of office templates that were originally created for AC10, with custom pen palletts and layout sheets. I am currently producing a new template in AC15 but its taking a bit of time. But i'm not sure if this will resolve the issue or whether we are still going to have the same issue with the new templates as well.

I guess you are talking about the Editing Plane.
Its settings can be set separately for the 3D Window in the Grids and Background Dialog.
I would also try to upgrade to the latest graphics drivers to check if this is not a driver issue.

Thanks for the comment unfortunately i've already checked the display drivers and tried to permanently change the editing plane transparency in the Grids & Back grounds dialog. But any changes i make are only temporary and the very next time i switch between 2d and 3d then the Editing plane is back as being 100% opaque and white (rather than about 20% and blue).

It just makes relocating any object on the Z-axis in the 3d Window difficult to do.

Any other suggestions, or is this something i'm just going to have to live with?

I don't know if you are using the latest hotfix, if not, that is one other thing to try.
You may also try installing an earlier version of your graphics driver, sometimes that helps.
