AC15 Renovation tool - work on AC14 projects?

KeesW

We are still waiting for our AC15 but have a small AC14 project at sketch design stage. Will we be able to open it into AC15 to use with its renovation tools? Or are there some intermediate steps we need to take before doing so?

Yes to question 1.
None to question 2 with the proviso that you should read the info (or see the videos) on AC15 so that you don't do extra work in AC14. For example extra layers and view sets.

1 -- Yes.

2 -- Be aware that elements will default to the "Existing" Status and may appear differently (or not appear at all!) depending on the active Renovation Filter. Also, View Settings will default to the "Existing Plan" Renovation Filter.

Assuming you have a new ground-up project, be sure all elements are assigned the "New" status and all Views are set to the "New Construction" filter. If the project is a remodel, there will be a lot more clean-up involved (TIP: don't get rid of your existing/demolition layers until AFTER the migration).
