Acrobat Pro settings for PDF Publisher set

I am working with the demo version of Acrobat Pro 8, trying to dial it in and make it work for me before shelling out, wondering how those of you who use this for your publishing of PDF sets have it setup. After having some oversize file issues,

http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=18310

I am already much happier with the reduced file size output vs. the built-in Amyuni PDF publisher, but, can't figure out how to merge multiple sheets into a single PDF set straight out of ArchiCAD. Can this be done, or does it always require post merging process in Acrobat?

I don't use the publisher but, get the results you want from setting the printer setup to the adobe printer with proper page size selected.

I have my printer set up as Adobe with page size set to the layout page size. I then choose all layouts in navigator I want printed and hit the print button under the file menu. I then choose the options to print all "selected layouts". I name the file and thats it. I get a complete set of the pages selected in one PDF file.

Hey Barry & Mark -

I think you two are essentially saying the same thing.........conceptually anyway, and, I like the outside the box thinking

In trying your method, [typically I don't use the navigator palette anymore, Organizer seems to do it for me, but I digress, again.......] My problem is, if I am trying this correctly, I select the drawings I want to merge into a single file in Navigator, viewing at least one of them, [is that right?], and when I go to file>print I loose the multiple selection. I am only allowed to print a single file.........can you help point me in the right direction?

might be some lag time in my responses here, trying to cook dinner at the same time..........

you need to be in a layout window to get the option to print multiple layouts in the print settings dialogue. but yes - that works. the process disappeared on me for a while - it popped up in acrobat about 5 minutes later - so i thought that it had failed. and i don't get an option to merge the layouts this way, it just merges them whether i like it or not.

nice workaround!

Yes.

The organizer will work so long as you don't have the navigator open as well - just one or the other.

Yes, I forgot to say you must be viewing a layout otherwise you will print what is on the screen in Archicad.

The layouts should remain selected in the Navigator/Organizer - maybe not highlighted but they should still have a box around them.
You will only be prompted for one file name and it should add all pages into that one file so long as you choose to print "Selected layouts in Navigator".

That's it!!! That's it!!! Thanks so much gents! I figured there had to be a way and someone would've been here before..........excellent work-around!

I was in the layout but glazing right over the old style "drawings selected in Navigator".

But, you only get hyperlinked markers with the method that Erika gave, using the Amyuni driver, right? So, we don't want GS to think this workaround resolves the issue?

Absolutely right Karl! this does not constitute a perfect solution. I never actually knew that the section markers in my PDFs were hyperlinked... Live and learn!
