Create multiple zones in one floor plan

Dontknow

Hi,

I want to create two or three copies of a floor plan and put in different kind of zones.
You can't create zones in a worksheet or layout.

So what's the best way to handle this?

Thnx.

You could save as 2 or 3 separate files and edit each as you need.
These can be use as hotlink modules which can be brought into a master file on separate master layers that can be turned on/off to show the different designs.

Or you can simply copy the plan next to itself (all in the same file) and work on the 2 or 3 alternatives.

Or use layers and layer combinations to create alternate plans that can be edited independently of each other. Be careful with Layer Intersection Priority numbers in this case as hidden layers will affect others if the LIP numbers are the same.
At least this way you can keep all common elements in common layers and only have alternate layers for those elements you want to change.

Or if you only have up to 3 alternate designs you could use the renovation filters to turn on/off the new, existing and to be demolished elements instead of using separate layers.
But this is not what renovation filters was really designed for.

Sorry I didn't see your images when I first posted.
If the designs are the same and you just want different zones then you can use layers for those zones.
But then I guess it depends on what you want the zones for.
If you are trying to get info such as which zone a door belongs to then you may be in trouble.
If it is just a visual thing then all should be fine.

Oké, thnx for your information.
It's all a bit difficult to create.

I think I'll do it this way:
Create the different zones in the different layers.
Set the required zones and copy all floor planes with the different zones to a layout or worksheet.
