Customizing area unit display from "sq ft" to "SF"

Has anyone figured out how to make this change? I apparently isn't possible as a setting in out-of-the-box AC. Maybe an add-on?

I don't think this is something you can change. It seems to be hard-coded into Archicad.

You should create a wish for the ability to specify measurement formats (could be made into a more general wish for Project Preferences):
