Dimension Tool -- Distance of text box from dimension string

I know that one can manually drag the box containing the dimension away from the string itself, but does anyone know of a way to possibly set a pt. value distance of separation?

Even the setting that is typically available in the label tool, which allows your text to be a set number of pts away from the label frame would be useful here. Does anyone have any suggestions? (I know that this happens automatically with the dimension tool, based around font size, but I would prefer to keep my font size as is)

There is no way to set this in the program AFAIK. There may be some way to set this internally in a preference in the registry but I have never heard anything on that.
