Dimensioning keeps changing

I open a drwing and place dimensions.  they look awful with fraction and a format that is horrible.

So I edit it so that I have no fractions and reads like this 12'-4"

I immediately save,

As I work this format changes

I have to set it up again and notice:

That I open the "Options" - Project Preferences" "Dimensions " and they have changed back to the wrong stuff.

I repeat and many time have to immediate repeat as it keeps going back ti the bad dimensions.

I repeat this daily  and some time many times in a day.

How do I stop this from happening.

This is automated in my other software,  I can drag the text into staggered locations and move them in any direction.

I have had to use this feature to some extent on every job we have had over 50 years.

The workflow is not correct or obvious

I Go to Project Preferences -

Dimensions

Make sure to change "Fraction to None"

Custom

Store as "M2"

Item  Dimensions disappear

Do a file save

reopen and first floor is still dimension however 2nd floor is not  correct so change it to m2

is OK now but open 1st floor and it is back to fractions

Gone back to options and selected Custom (M2) and looks good

Went back to 2nd Floor and selected custom "M2" and it looks good

Save the file

Select Exit and it asks "SAVE?"  and I save again

and then reopen

AND THE FRACTIONS ARE BACK

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING

Exit the file and reopen

Seems you have updated your dimension styles which is great.

Now each view you open stores the dimension style, so you need to make sure the view settings are using the correct dimension style.

Every time you open a 'view' all of the settings will change to what is stored in the view settings.

you can change the settings on screen, but these will not affect the saved views.
