Dimensions disapear

Team

I am running into this issue more and more recently. For some reason associative dimensions placed on my plans, elevations and Sectional views disappear randomly. As this is a totally random event that I have been unable to pinpoint the problem.

The workaround has been to add hotspots prior to adding the dimensions but this is a time consuming process that my users do not like. Obviously because if the building changes the dimensions do not update automatically. Have any of you encountered this in the past?

We are encountering this on both Archicad 10 and 11(1114). Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you,

I've had Angular Dimensions disappear in plan if they were associated with a Grid Element (which I believe is a bug), and dimensioning in the S/E window has been discussed on this forum many times.

So, aside from those 2 issues, all I can suggest is that the Users be very conscientious of what the Dimensions are being associated with; perhaps the Dimensions are being associated with Elements that have been deleted???

Typically dimension disappear when are connected to the grid element and there is section that cuts through those grid lines. In previous version of the grid tool (at least the one avialable in Constructor) workaround was to generate the section and then is section setting switch the grid generation into manually. New version of the tool do not even have that option. So, I'm not using new version of Constructor - yet. Generally I think Archicad/Constructor need totally new grid tool system that is associated with the view. It would allow then to have one grid system for the whole project and just select visible grid lines and their boundary per view (a bit like scopes in Revit).
