Explode PDFs question

Hello ArchiCAD users! I have the following question: is there a way to explode a scanned colored floor plan? I tried "Explode into current view" option but it does nothing and I get the feeling that this option works only with black&white PDFs that contain linework only...

It only works for vectorial PDFs created directly from a program such as Archicad.
i.e. created from lines and fills.

It does not work with scanned images as they are just a serries of dots.
So there are no lines to explode to.
