License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Grid display in Layout

How do I get the grid in a Drawing to display in the Layout?

When I go to the drawing it looks fine. In Layout it does not show up in that drawing. When I turn on the grid display in Layout it does not seem to have any effect on the drawing.

Yes. That will do it. I think this is a step in the right direction. Now how do you get it to show at a given scale that matches the drawing you want it to be shown with?

You can put your grid in certain layer.
You can make visible or unvisible in layout.

This is baffling. I thought by construction grid you meant the grid in View > Grid Options > Grids & Background... if you can put that on a layer, I'd sure like to know how!

I can see now why you want the grid (and ghosts) in your layout, just like when you print, but AFAIK it's not possible.
As for Drawing in the Master Layout. I was only talking about drawing lines for borders and title blocks. Suppose I want to move it 6" or some specific distance to work better with the drawings in the layout. You can't do that because the Master Layout is 1:1.
Equally as baffling. Just drag it over by 6" and it will go 6", relative to the layout. If you're in the layout environment that is and your 'Layout Units' are set correctly in the project preferences.

Cheers,

The Border is in the Master Layout. were everything is 1:1. You can not tweak anything there if you want it to match Layout Drawings which are at 1/4" = 1' for example.

You have to tweak it in a drawing at the same scale and then paste it into the Master drawing. Any tweaking done to it after that is difficult because it is now in 1:1.

If not, then I want to find some other way to show a construction grid...
Steve,
It sounds like you need a basic "grid" GDL object to place in each of your drawings or views...basically just put it on a special layer to control its visibilty when needed.

It would always be at the scale of the drawing it is placed in and the view it is saved from.

A couple of parameters for grid size, linetype, etc. is about all you should need.
