I just tried it on mine and am attaching the image where you can see that when I right click I get the 'save view and place on layout option'.
You said that it works on one computer but not the other so on the one that it doesn't work on -Q. What do you get when you right click on the model in the pop up box?

1) set up the view in the 3D window (Open GL or Int Engine).
2) in Navigator, Project map, highlight the 3D document folder
3) click the "new viewpoint" folder at bottom of navigator
4) in Navigator, the View Map now has this view saved permanently.
5) from View Map view of 3d doc, save and place on layout.
6) print / plot layout.
If you want to print the rendered LightWorks view, save the render as a jpg.
Place jpg on worksheet then place worksheet on layout.
By placing on worksheet first, you can use it multiple times in layouts (partials, etc),
and you can trace reference it into any plan, section, etc., view.

No need for a 3D Document (or cameras) and if you ever need to change the point of view or zoom, you can change them in the 3D window and redefine the view settings to get the current window settings. Is a tried and tested method for wireframe/hidden line/shading, internal engine/openGL, marqueed areas, and renders too.

Oh ok thanks alot. Is this the same way to do it when you render the model using the inbuilt archicad render rather than a different program and want to plot it from archicad?

Try this in a new file:
1. Draw some walls (to see).
2. Open your Organizer with the Project Map on the left and View Map on the right.
3. Drag the Generic Perspective from the Project Map into the View Map.
4. Select the newly created View and hit the Settings button at the bottom of the Organizer (under the View Properties panel).
5. Change the Generate in: from '3D Window' to 'Photorendering Window', under the 3D Only panel. Hit OK.
6. In the Organizer switch the left side to View Map and the right side to Layout Book.
7. Drag the view into the layout book. It will create a layout with that view on it.
Done. But that is the quick method, you'd want to set up the correct storing options and photorendering settings properly. Before or after, doesn't matter because you can always redefine your view to that latest 3D window or Photorender settings.
I've pre-linked countless renderings into templates, so I can promise it works!
