Organiser - creating a new template

Hello,

I was tol;d by some graphisoft guy to redo my template entirely, my old template had too much old library, a mess.

Now i have been at it (an absolute nightmare compare to Revit!)  But how to transfer stuff from the project map of old template to project map of new template ?  The functions are greyed off...

You do not. You transfer Attributes. Export and import GOs and Favourites. Rebuild your preset Views and Layouts.

Not a process you want to go through frequently, but when done properly, you will find all the erroneous junk that built up in your old template that can be excluded from your new one. A leaner, cleaner template is faster one.

The Project Map (view points) can not be dragged from one file to another in the Organiser.

They are unique for every project/template and really should be set up manually for what you want.

You can however copy the section/elevation/detail markers from one file to another and it will create the viewpoints for those.

But it will not copy any 2D information in those markers.

You will also need to set up the Views in the View Map as these are dependant on the view points in the project map.

You can't drag Views from the View map of one file to the View Map of another.

You can drag Views into the layout pages of the second file, but be warned they will link to the view content of the first file and not the views in the second file as you would want.

Basically, set the project map view points up manually.

Then create the views in the view map from those view points - cloning can be good here.

Then set up the layout pages and the publisher set (again can be clones of the layouts).
