Permanently unlock a layer

DS6

Hi!
I’m having an issue with a few layers that keep locking themselves. No matter how many times I unlock them, they become locked again as soon as I leave the plan or view and come back to it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Do you redefine your views after unlocking the layers? If not, these settings will be lost after you go away from that view and return later (to the same settings as before)

is it locking by layer combo? make sure after you unlock the layer, you update the layer combo or create a new layer combo... also, if you switch viewpoints by shortcut or navigating tabs (or via project map), the new viewpoint is likely to adopt the layer combo (and other view settings) of the previous viewpoint.
IE: open an elevation saved with a custom layer combo that includes locked layers, then hitting F2 to go to the floor plan, the floor plan may show with that custom layer combo, including that locked layer.

If you want to unlock those Layers in all Layer Combinations, the Attribute Manager Dialog is the place to do it in a single step.

In the Dialog, go to the Layers page, select all Layer Combinations at the top, then use CTRL+click to select all Layers you want to unlock, then click the Lock button for any of them. All selected Layers will be unlocked in all selected Layer Combinations. Click OK to accept changes and leave the Dialog.

This way, no matter which Layer Combination is used by the Views you activate during your work, the Layers will be unlocked.

You can do it in the layer dialogue as well.

Select the layer or layers on the right and any or all layer combinations on the left.

Then change the visibility button for one of the selected combinations and all selected combinations will change.
