Renovation: New walls intersecting existing door openings

Is there a way to show in plan view (renovation) new walls which penetrate (renovation) existing openings?
The existing opening always seems to white-out new walls.
I don't want to break the opening in two parts because the demolition floor plan will show existing concrete when I will be infilling with new metal studs.

What happens if you uncheck the "Do not Intersect" checkbox for Existing Elements in the Renovation Filter Options Dialog?
