Split drawings across multiple layouts

Hi there,

I'm looking for an easier way to split a drawing across multiple layouts automatically, rather than doing it manually.

My clients often need drawings printed on A3 paper, and instead of reducing the scale to 1:200, I would prefer to keep the scale at 1:100. Ideally, I'd like to split the drawing into multiple layouts so that the additional layouts capture the overflow portions that don’t fit in the first layout.

I’ve noticed there's an option in the Master settings called "Create new when Layout is full," which I’ve enabled, but I’m not quite sure how it works.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

Thanks,

Lotta

Hi @lottamelin

This function allows you to automatically place drawings according to the views you drag and drop on a layout so, depending on the size of the drawing, it will arrange them horizontally and vertically according to the chosen direction. If there is not enough space on the paper layout, it will create a new layout to further arrange the drawings.

You can find more information about Auto Arrange Setup >> HERE <<

But, for your special requirement, you could create different splitted views with the real size of the drawing so, when arranged, they can fit in your paper page.

Check this former post about How to split plan view over multiple layouts for possible annotation issues.

Regards.
