I just recently started to use the stair headroom feature to visualize code required clearance. I notice that at the top of the stair the headroom extends horizontally across the top tread, which of course does note meet the IBC Building code, which requires the head room to extend to the top riser and over the top landing. Is there a setting that I am missing? The gray in my screenshot is archicad, the red line is code.

Is it because your stair is set to end with a riser and not a tread?
So it is not taking into account the top tread which would be the landing.

Needs an option that carries the clearance box an extra riser, then extends it horizontally by a user defined amount?

yes, exactly. At a minimum the head room needs to extend one tread depth over the landing, but options such as: 3' over the landing, or an amount equal to the width of the stair, or a custom amount would be ideal

Settings similar to what is available in the Stair Support Connection options.

The whole headroom feature was never finished. We also miss the possibility to change the display (pen/fill/surface) of it.
I'm still hoping this will be picked up again, @James B (:

For the past 15 years I have been manually using line work to show stair head clearance so I like the automatic display but yes, I did immediately go searching for how to edit the color, transparency and pen to no avail. Since dark gray is the only option I just end up turning it off.
