I have a wall from 0.0000 to 4.000, i.e. 4m tall. It's 4m long. I have painted the internal surface with Surface Painter, so I've got 4x4 = 16m² of painted surface.
Now, I add a 1m wide by 1m tall simple window, at a 10cm reveal from the internal wall surface. That means that around the window hole, I have a wall surface going into the reveal, the total of which is 4x(0.10x1.00) = 0.40m².
I have set up a wall surfaces schedule. It picks up walls whose surface differs from building material. I list the 'Exposed Area (By Criteria)' field. I expect to see in my schedule a total of painted surface for that wall equal to 15.40m².
But it lists it as 15.60m². That is 0.20m² more than I expected. What am I missing?
I have confirmed the following:
The window is 1m x 1m. Reveal is exposed 10cm around the window frame on the inside of the wall.
The schedule correctly measures the painted surface of my wall as 16m² when I have removed the window.
It also correctly measures it as 15m² when the window is replaced by an Empty Opening.
Thank you.

It could be the type and configuration of the reveal.
I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, Archicad also calculates these surfaces

Thanks. So, I'm not going crazy.
Pity that after so many version updates, such an accurate tool is so erm... inaccurate. Unless there's a logic that I am not following.
