Views placed on Layout keeps updating

hey all

i have a problem with most views placed on layout and its constant updating.

when i open a layout it start updating all views and this happen twice before i can use the file.

this is happening to certain files so im assuming it has to do with work environment.

on some sheets i have like 15-18 views and this is starting to take some time since it gets updated twice in a row.

please find attached

They will update when anything in the model has changed, and it may not even affect the actual drawings.

I am not sure about the double updating.

You can select each (all) drawings and set them to be 'Manual' update.

But then you have to remember to update them yourself.

yeah i understand the auto-update process, but the thing is that nothing is being updated in the actual view. whats happening is its just updating no matter what i do.

If i clicked outside the Archicad file and i clicked back again on Archicad it start updating twice.

OK.

What Archicad version?

Is it the latest build?

What operating system?

Teamwork or stand alone?

So you have a layout open and it is all up to date.

Then just switching to this forum and then back to Archicad forces and update?

build 6000, latest as per update

win 64

stand alone job.

yes thats exactly whats happening. it forces the layout into updating not once but twice !

Strange, this is not happening for me.

Maybe there is something in your file (hotlink, Xref, schedule, something) that thinks it constantly wants to update?

If you open the default Archicad template and open a layout, does it do the same thing?

it doesn't happen to all files as I mentioned, but the weird thing is all files are from the same template and all have the same exact hotlinks and schedules. i dont use any Xref other than mod hotlink.

and the drawing manager for the files that keep updating shows that all drawings (needs checking)

i refreshed all and it shows that all ok but then i opened it again and it was showing the same thing (needs checking)

I am not sure, as it is not happening to me.

Can you show the drawing settings for one of those elevations?

I am not sure if this will offer any clues.

Ahmad,

It seems to me, based on your Drawing Manager screenshot, that all Drawings that need updating have Interior Elevations as their source view. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Do other Drawings also have this issue, or only the ones that have Interior Elevations as their source view?
