Greetings, I'm trying to shade the core of a wall as well as the brick and or stone veneer in plan. I can't seem to make that happen. Any fix to that problem?
Thanks,

Not weird at all.
With Trace & Reference on, you are overlaying 2 views, so you have the option to turn the fills off so you can see through one view to the other, but of course you do not see any fills at all in either view.
Normally this option would be off, or you would turn the trace reference off if you are not using it and then that button has no effect.

Alt + F2 is the default toggle for Trace mode. Trace with transparent fills when you need to align someting between stories, then toggle if off.

I assume you have a composite set up for that wall?
The building materials used for each skin in that composite need to have a fill with the appropriate pen colour assigned to it.
If you are wanting to use Graphic Overrides, then you can not override just a portion of the wall.
The entire element will be overridden.

Thank you Barry. How does one find the appropriate pen color for the chosen building material skin? I'm using black.
I've chosen wood - structural for my core stud wall composite with 1/2" gyp board on each side for a simple interior wall. For the wood - structural building material for the core I've chosen a 40% fill for the first tab shown under Structure and Appearance.
For the second tab, I've chosen Wood Structural. The default there is a pine vertical which is not really a color. I still can't get the core to show my 40% fill choice. It can't be that hard to shade a core or material. I don't see any other tabs to click on that will make it work.
Thanks,

I don't have your setup, but here is something I think is similar.
Here is a composite wall and the building materials used for the skins.
Here are the settings for the building material.
The fill and pen colours you set here are what you will see for the 'cut' fill of the wall.
So long as you are displaying the wall as 'symbolic' or 'projected' (the floor plan cutting plane must cut through it in this case), you should see the fill and pen colours you have set up.
It sound like you are doing it correctly, maybe just not displaying the wall as a cut wall.

Hi Barry, first of all, thanks for looking into my issue. I found something by accident that solved everything and shows all fills in plan. Under the Trace pull down menu, there is an icon called "Transparent Fills and Zones". I un-clicked that icon and all of my fills showed up. Really weird, but it solved the problem.
Thanks,
