Windows displaying unexpected lines in section

Hi Friends,

My window section is displaying a dash line and a solid line on either sides of the top sashes, I have browsed through my settings and can't seem to understand what these lines are for. I am quite sure that it would be the window as well because when I select the window it is highlighted, so i'm assuming it is not something from behind.

Would be thrilled if someone could hint me on this

Pretty sure those are in the "Opening Lines"
settings of the window. You can turn them off,
but then they won't appear in elevation.

Hi buddy, yeah you are right, it is the opening lines, but without them the elevations are going to be a problem, how are you working around this?

I think all you can do is to make them a thinner pen so they blend into the frame lines rather than being thicker than them.

Hi Barry, I think it does make sense to give them a thin pen and blend because opening lines really dont need to be thicker than cutlines anyways.

Check to see if the opening line visibility can be controlled via Model View Options (MVO), they can in the US library. You can attach different MVO settings to different Views, so for the elevations they would be on and for sections off.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

Hi David, I do have those settings in your highlight. If I uncheck opening line it takes away the opening line on the elevation view as well. And if it is checked it will appear in my section (I have set my section settings to show limited depth).

P.S. Signature is added, thanks for reminding.

MVOs are like Layer Combinations: you can create different MVO Combinations then assign them to different Views (in the Help files see: Views of the Virtual Building > Model View Options > Model View Options Combinations). So you would create one MVO Combination with the lines off and assign that MVO to the Section Views, then create a second MVO with the lines on and assign it to the Elevation Views; this is similar to creating different Layer Combinations for different Views. When double-clicking a View in the View Map, that View is opened with its View Settings, including the assigned MVO Combination.
