circle cicumference?

Not an everyday thing but when you need it you need it..............

After locating the arc dimensioning tool [thanks Link, if it's right in front of you, you'll never see it........] I am now curious how y'all dimension circles, ovals, and partial ovals circumferences.

The dimension setting at the end of the "standard" palette will only dimension part of a circle, if I click on the circle on the right nothing except the AC "doink" happens, no dice.
Dimensioning needs two points: FROM and TO. If you try to dimension the full circle, there is only one point, that is FROM and TO at the same time. Therefore, BOINK!

Don't forget - computers are stupid, they don't think, they just do (hm ... so do some people I know ... apology to computers!)

Open the circle by .1 degree and dimension, it will work. You NEED two points for dimensioning. Or split it in half and dimension each half.

Well I have to admit I never thought of the problem from the computer's "point" of view, and as always when ever you "drive" like that you head in an unwanted direction.

Well ... I really don't see the point of dimensioning the lenght of the perimeter of the circle; you can get it in the Object info and the site guys could not care less anyway; they need the position of the center and the diameter or radius.
