As you can see, the footplate is positioned at the very bottom, with the beam above it and the column at the top; however, in the floor plan view, the beam appears to be sitting on top of everything, as if it were resting on the column. This is the default template in Archicad 29. I apologise for asking about this, as it should be a very minor issue. So, I’m hoping the image will look like the one in Paint (sorry, I can’t explain it in words) and thank you for taking the time to read this

Yeah, the default Display Order for the various tools does not match the supposed heirachy show in the documentation...

Thank you for your help. From what I understand, I should use the ‘Bring Forward’, ‘Bring to Front’, ‘Send Backward’ and ‘Send to Back’ commands, right? It works—thank you for that. But is there a more automated way? I’m worried that once the drawing gets very crowded (I mean, with elements from MEP and architecture), it will be difficult to move those objects forwards and backwards to the correct positions, especially when the overlapping elements (in my case, these beams) are obscured by cables or similar features that are actually just a single line very small line, and I’m likely not to see that line, so the drawing might look fine but technically be incorrect. Thank you again, and I’ve already tried your advice.

My recommendation would be to never use the Bring to Front or Send to Back options as that basically removes all control...
