System Requirements

What System is everyone running? Mine is 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (2.50 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB, NVMe SSD 954GB,  16GB RAM.

I've upgraded to 29 and am using Ci Tools now as well and have noticed a significant drop in speed with lagging at almost every operation. My system meets the requirements shown on the Graphisoft site but it is basic. Wondering what everyone else is using before I spend money on an upgrade.

Cheers, Jacob

I assume (for reference) that you are refering to this page:

https://www.graphisoft.com/resources-and-support/system-requirements/

and that you are running Windows 11?  I think that the 'entry level' requirments listed there are too low and that while the product will run, it will be sluggish even for residential use.  I wonder if they have even updated the content on this page as it looks like what I've seen for a few years.  I would consider the mid-range specs as the minimum.

Thanks Karl. Yes its Windows 11. Seems like a good idea to upgrade my whole system. A shame, as I did use the requirements listed as reference when purchasing my computer.

Maybe first try to find out what your bottleneck is. Ram and GPU is relatively easy to upgrade and might not trigger a whole system replacement.

For CPU I would use cpubenchmark.net and look at single thread chart mainly to compare how your i5 scores against newer CPUs. Archicad operations are for the most part single threaded in my experience. Disk is probably the least important provided you are not running out of space.

Also stay away from laptops, performance is significantly worse even though they name components same as desktop so i5 mobile vs desktop difference is noticeable. Some i9 laptops for example would handle the heat so poorly that they would end up slower then cheaper i7.

Will definitely just be looking at desktop PC's. I'll look into the upgrades. I'm very much a novice with tech but if its easy enough i may give it a go. Thanks Davor 🙂
