I am having difficulty changing the color of a brick materia. I've copied and made a new material and then changed the surface color and specular color but nothing seems to change. What else do I need to do to change the color.
Also, I need put numbers on the building and have them show up in a perspective review. I would like them to be stainless steel. Is there a way to do this. How can I make 3d Letters and Numbers?
thanks,

archicad uses two separate methods of representing materials in the 3d window:
the 'internal 3d engine' (image>3d engine...) will use the colour etc (and vectorial hatching) settings in the material dialogue
'open GL' (and photorealistic rendering) uses the texture map assigned to the material (at the bottom of the material settings dialogue). to change the colour of this you have to edit the texture image in photoshop or similar
the two methods are entirely independent
the standard archicad library has a 3d text object. it's in furnishings>decoration... (in the international version)
