ArchiCAD 10 & XP Home Edition

I couldn't find any reference to Windows XP Home edition in the system requirements for ArchiCAD 10.

I use XP Home edition since I do not need any of the network facilities of XP Pro and I prefer to upgrade a single processor on a regular basis rather than follow the more expensive dual-processor route.

I can confirm that ArchiCAD 10 runs perfectly well on XP home in a non networked environment. (I would be tend to be more cautious with a network based installation)

That's an interesting point. I'm not sure why they left XP-Home out of the System Requirements.

I know there is more to XP-Pro than just simple networking. There are a lot of higher level program functions that usually relate to internet functions and programming, but I did not think Archicad required any of them to function.

I have noticed no difference - XP Pro at work, XP Home at home, both behaving the same.

I believe the application was tested on Windows XP Pro only. So they can say it will function properly on Windows XP Pro. Since it was not tested on Windows XP Home, they cannot say it will run without problems on Home. Still, it may run without problems.
But as I remember, this was the same way for ArchiCAD 9.

As far as I remember, no error report was made since AC9 came out where it turned out Windows XP Home is the problem.

Any experience with v10 and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 ?

I've tried it without problems.

Media Centre 2005 is just XP Pro with the media center application and Windows XP PLUS! pack installed.
