ArchiCAD 14 is VERY slow

Hi

I installed 14 recently and like 13, it's slow, only MORE SO.

It keeps interrupting me with the rainbow disc and then I have to twiddle my thumbs until it recovers, sometimes just for a few seconds before it starts again. Also, the OpenGL shadows do not work on my machine.

I have now gone back to AC13 because it is impossible to work like this. Could it be my graphics card? Anything else? Settings?

Has anybody had similar problems with AC14?

I work on an i7-processor( HP), I don't really have any comparison with other -processors as this i7-processor is the only station I instaaled Archicad. When I watch the GL-mode I haven't encounterd lagging, so far

Yes same problems here .. I have no idea what it is .. there is no significant network traffic involved, no noticeable CPU activity (i run iStat menus and check all the stats when AC hangs .. according to them and Activity Monitor nothing is going on).

Are you running TW?

What is your network setup?

Machine specs, BIM Server specs, etc ..

Despite what they say about being more efficient in network usage than it used to be I still believe AC does far more talk than is necessary ... there is constant checking in with both the BIM server manager and the AC license key server that is over the top IMO. I suspect some sort of network traffic issues combined with AC expecting to constantly be tethered to the above two items causes it to go into these frequent spins.

Of course you may be about to prove me wrong by saying you're not running a TW file and have the dongle plugged into your local machine?

Rendering in AC14 has become painfully slow. AC13 made some improvements but now it is taking 10 minutes to render some very simple models.

As well we used to get a preview as it was rendering (very helpful in case there were some errors) and now we can't tell what it is doing because all we have a a big blank screen under the entire model has finished rendering.
