ArchiCAD 22 Severe Performance Issues

I just downloaded 22 and have started to play with it (no production yet), and have found to it be incredibly laggy and slow to the point where it is unusable for any type of project. All I have done thus far is open the default template. By all accounts I have plenty (albeit slightly older) of computer to run it. Anyone else having this problem?

Well... long story short I ended up doing an erase and clean install of MacOS and now every problem I have ever had is solved. I feel worse for the my IT Pro who was helping me set up a remotely hosted Bimcloud! We couldn't figure out what the problems was. Now 22 works great, and the remote Bimcloud Basic set up is the fastest teamwork scenario I have ever worked on! Sorry this was a whole lot of noise for nothing.

So Ralph, you win!

Scott/Erwin, yes I am running the intel iris graphics card. When I purchased the machine I had it fully spec'd out save an enormous SSD. It seemed crazy that it would already be outdated, but I'll give it another year. 32gb of ram is very enticing on a laptop!

While RAM is awesome, you need a dedicated GPU really. It doesn't have to super top end, but onboard graphics is just not suited for 3D applications.

I have a cheap ASUS laptop at home, the screen quality is horrible, but with a RAM upgrade to 8GB and a 256 GB SSD it is capable of running ARCHICAD20 (last version I tried on it) mostly due to a nvidia GPU.

The graphics hardware in any 15" MacBook Pro will be more than enough for our purposes. More RAM extends the life-span of the machine – you may not need it all now, but you can be sure the situation will be different in 4 years.

The macbook pro that I have does have a dedicated GPU. Oddly, the spec on my MBP and the iMac is very similar with the exception of double the RAM.

I'm seeing similar problems in my late 2015 imac with AC 22. I have 32G ram an ssd but i find it really laggy. I only do single family homes and though the models are quite big they are not big by industry standards. when i make a change to a window say, the 3D window will take 2-3 seconds or so to update.
