Hardware Acceleration in 2D with AC10 ???

Hello, can someone help me find where the hardware acceleration (openGL) for the 2D drawing is - in AC10. In AC9 there is an option for OpenGL optimization not only for 3D but also for 2D , and it works great. In AC10 i cannot find that option under the Work Environment as in AC9.

- Work Environment / 2D Redraw Options / Optimise drawing method for high performance video cards - (the path in AC9)

Is that option not included in AC10 ? I hope it is, because as i test AC10 works 2x slower than AC9.

Thanks.

I think GS discontinued it.

I cannot say that I have seen any performance problems on Windows or Mac PPC. The MacIntels are running slower until the native Intel version is released.

There are no performance problems, but as you use that optimization with scenes with many objects , city plans for example, the optimization is great. I loaded the same plans in the neu AC10 and i can say that as i move over the plans it is very slow and absolutely not smooth.

You don't consider plans moving "very slow and absolutely not smooth" a performance problem?

What kind of machine are you running on?

It looks like your only option with a slower graphics card is to use the simplified model or structural outline for navigating.

Since the switch is no longer there, we must assume it is automatic. I haven't noticed any problems in this area.

Performance problems, that doesn't mean that all must work smooth. Faster PCs - higher performance ... , more lines and objects with a slower PC - low performance - that is not a performance problem though ....

My PC is not the best, but i use AC for more than 3 years , and the version 9 is maybe the best till now. That openGL optimization is not on by default in the new version. I realy don't see where is the point to take it away. Even AutoCad have an 2D optimization, hardware openGL is much faster than sofware emulation, even the slowest video cards help for the overall performance.

But thanks for the info anyway. AC10 is not for me unless they return the logically optimisation.

IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS LIKE THIS?

You know, it's kind of funny, but I'm actually noticing that the plan window is a lot slower than 9 in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to placing Auto-chasing Zones.

The redraw is noticeably slower than 9 was, even when considering the size of the file I'm in.

I think this may have something to do with the new guidelines, preselection and info floater. I have found that turning these off speeds things up. This was more of a problem with my PowerBook. On the MacBook Pro I hardly notice it.

I have guidelines, tracker, and pre-select off.

Zones especially seem to take forever to place and any time I pan, the elements that were previously offscreen draw VERY slowly..
