Installing Archi10 on New MacBook Pro

Anonymous
Not applicable
Our office (all Macs) just purchased a MacBook Pro 17" and we want to install ArchiCAD 10 on it for field work. However, though the AC10 CD loads, the install application starts but hangs up on the first screen before the NEXT button becomes active. I have been told that the install may not handle the new Dual Core Intel Macs, although I had no trouble installing or using 10 on our new G5 Quad Mac.

Is there may be a way to copy files to this computer to install the application and all its files? If so how and which files and folders must be transfered?

This has already been posted all over the place. Just drag a copy of the GS folder already installed on a PPC Mac to the MacBook. The AC installer is not compatible thus it will not install. Also remember to install the WIBU software from the CD on the MAcBook.

Also, remember that officially 10 is NOT supported on MacOS and Mactels.

Djordje, maybe I'm picky again, but I'd like to suggest a re-phrazing of your statement, which may sound a bit too rigid for my taste:
-AC10 Final (build 817 which is made for PPC) isn't officially supported running on the recent Intel Macs in the Rosetta PPC emulation. That is also true for AC9 and earlier. It IS supported on all recent PPC Macs.
- However, there is also a native AC10 for Macintel in the works, to be released soon.
