How do I create a PDF printer?

Hi guys,

Not really relevant to ArchiCAD but u guys respond fast so thought id post it here....I need to set up a PDF printer for converting documents(word, photoshop etc) to PDF format but not sure how to do it?

Any ideas....much appreciated.

It depends. What operating system are you using and what software do you have for making PDFs?

I'm assuming you aren't on a Mac, where PDF printing is pretty much "built-in" to OS X.

On the Windows side of my machine, I downloaded some freeware called "CutePDF" and it does the trick with Win XP, but I've only used it for small pages like letter size... no large plan sheets, though it may be possible. You may have to also install some ghostscript software first.

Didn't Amyuni PDF converter come with your copy of AC? It installs as a virtual printer on your system.

I use CutePDF too (one particular software I have simply refuses to print through Amyuni) but, for the rest, I've consistently found the output from Amyuni to be superior - and it creates smaller files too.

Look for PDF Converter in the directory where you've installed AC.
