I click on Edit > Search & Replace text, the dialogue comes up, I choose my filters and search terms etc, I hit search, get a half second blue circle, then nothing.
The next box that I'm used to seeing doesnt display (because it wasn't updated to AC28?) but is clearly there as a phantom because Archicad behaves badly in the background (display glitches etc).
When i open Search & Replace Text again and hit cancel, AC behaves normally again.
If i click on Replace All, the dialogue box doesn't progress to the next one and just remains there frozen, but still have limited functionality behind the frozen box.
Ac28.0.1
I AM VERY SICK OF THE ENTRY LEVEL QUALITY CONTROL
only way to get rid of it all is to restart AC.
we just want software that works dependably.............................. every tool or feature i go to use these days just doesnt work. im sure AC1 would be more helpful at this point. so frustrating.
Also, if the userbase is to conduct quality control for Graphisoft/N, then it would make sense to introduce a board to this forum called 'Bugs found by stressed users in the lead up to Christmas'. Or at least a Label which can be called 'Urgent Bugs'.
Both seem to be missing, and presumably Labels are locked down so GS can save face. i know 9/10 of my posts labels would include 'bug'
time taken to write this up: 20mins
time charge to GS/N: $50NZD, ill invoice you

I just updated to 28.2 this morning, and search and replace text is working again.

Just tried it myself and seems to be working again. Thanks for the heads up.

Why would this search return no results?

Make sure your Archicad is up to date.
This seems to have worked for others.

Thanks Barry, Im at 28.3.1. and still no result.

The last message I had from tech support was that it didn't work with text that had auto text in it.
I see your text seems to have a drawing number - possibly that is autotext?
But I just tried some text that has autotext in it, and that worked for me.
The only thing is I am on build 28.3.0
I will update a little later and will try again.
It also will not look at locked text or locked layers, but your text does not appear to be locked.
Does your search say there is no match, or does it just not do anything?
Barry.

Yes, there is auto text in this label though even if a place a label containing only the search text it still produces no results. But it does work with text.
The return I get is "There is no matching text".
what Ive noticed is that associative labels cant be selected within the filter field. This label is associated to the post so this may be the issue. why you wouldnt associate a label befuddles me though. and the only way to make this option selectable is to check the "include uneditable elements" which again befuddles me because how could this be helpful aside for highlighting the text that is required to be changed manually which really defeats the purpose.

So yes, its associated labels. these cant be edited in this manner.

Associated labels can be edited so long as you include them in the filter.
It just can't alter any autotext element of that text label - i.e. the size or sheet number.
Barry.

Fantastic. Confusing that it is listed under Uneditable Elements and it can be edited.
