Tiger flashing in OpenGl

Since installing Tiger, the following has started when OpenGL is the rendering engine. No problem with internal 3d engine.

When selecting something in 3d window , the window flashes totally white twice. When moving viewpoint it only flashes once. Tried it with and with out hardware acceleration. Tis a bit annoying. Any body else running into this?

Was happening here too. Except it started after 9.0 was installed for me. I'm running OS 10.3.8.

However, I updated to build 2018 and it has stopped. Are you on the latest build?

Be warned, if you update to the latest build from the first revision ( cant remember the number ) it will probably screw up AC. I had that problem. For some reason GS told me to reinstall AC 9.0 from the original disk, then update to 2018 build.

Good luck

I have the same problem. I haven't done any investigations yet into possible fixes. I see we both have the ATI Radeon card. Maybe a new driver? I'll let you know if I find something that works.

no problem here: Mac Powerbook G4, ATI mobility card, tiger and AC9 2018 . . .

must be that super-duper new video card they're putting in the new G5's to drive the double cinema displays?

I downloaded and installed new driver for 10.4, apparently I now have the ability to rotate my monitor 90 degrees but unfortunately it is still flashing. I just about have the timing of my eye blinks down to matching the flash, so it is not nearly as apparent.

Ted, thanks for the link to macosrumour. That may explain it.

more on this - it is a bug: i opened another project and saw what you were talking about. i've tracked it down to the background selection. whenever i'm using 'As In Photorendering Settings' as the 3D window background, and the photorendering settings are using lightworks images (scaled in my case) you get the flashing.

anybody else verify before i send it off to the tech guys?

cheers

Macosrumors is a very unreliable "rumour" site. They seem to make things up

Hi guys. We have here very mixed environment. One Mac mini, PC with XP home and HP notebook with XP pro. They all have AC 9 installed, and flashing of the monitor appears on all machines. It doesn't flash all the time. In some project it does in others i doesn't. It drives us nuts, and we can not figure it out. Also in the same project, in the mornig it flashes, after lunch it doesn't. Any help?
