different wall displays for different plans

Could anyone tell me how to change the way a wall looks in different plans? I am trying to make a structural plan, where I want the wall to read only as lines and not show the material as a hatch. changing its properties (throughthe info box) will change it in the construction drg too.

You'll need to change a display option.
In AC 10 look under Document/Set Model View/Model View Options

I still need to show some walls with a hatch, while others as lines. and some walls as dashed rather than solid lines. I know I should not change properties...since it changes the wall as a whole. Is the any way I can do such an operation in the structural plan view only?
Easiest is to export a simple-looking plan out to DWG and reimport, changing linetypes, layers, and colors to something else when it comes back in. You get just a 2D plan, but it will look right.

In the Wall Settings you can choose a different line type for your wall but you can't have that just apply to a structural drawing.

You could make Detail around the whole floor plan, then in the detail, treat it as a 2D background. Layout the Background seperate from but right on top of the Structrual Info in Plotmaker. Not ideal but...

There might a trick of putting the parts you want to show dashed on a false story below and having it show one story up.

You can place a "white" hatch over the plan ( clear background of course) using a thick white pen.
