Which machine? Which OS?

Which plotter? Printer?

Are you sending the bug reports to your reseller?

Print, don't plot.

The system drivers work quite well.

Make sure that your 500 has enough memory and JetDirect card.

I also have hp designjet 500 plus and also use print instead plot command
Looks like there is no .gpd -graphisoft plotter driver for this plotter although
I think that this have to be improved , because I think that there is a lot
of archicad users that use this plotter. Nothing left , just to wait

I trust that you guys using the HP 500 understand that the HPGL card is an extra cost option now and not included with the printer (HP no longer calls them "plotters"). If you have the card you should be able to send generic HPGL to the cue and it will plot right out. If you don't have it printing is the only option.

I think it's time we all accept that plotting is an old and almost dead technology and move on. It has some advantages, like small file sizes and better line weights, but support for it is rapidly disappearing. I recommend devoting your time to figuring out how to get the best looking PDF that you can and use that as your standard for output.

Regarding the 25% fill printing black. If it is the old vector type the spacing of the dots must be coordinated with the pen size (about double unless you want to account for the roundness of the dots for true 25% coverage). If it s the new bitmap version then I can only guess that the background pen is the problem.

Well , I have HPGL -2 card and 32 MB RAM .
In a matter a fact I can plot from archicad but everytime I plot drawings larger than 3mb I lose informations ( some lines , pictures , wals , objects included in drawing , does not plot ) so I dont get plotted drawing as it is draw in archicad . When I print the same drawing everything is OK.

Are you plotting directly from ArchiCAD? You could try plotting to a file and use PlotFlow to send it to the plotter (or just drag and drop if you can see the cue on the network).

Even so, I still think it's better to switch to printing.

So create PDF and them print PDF?

What do you recommend for printing multiple and even collated sets?

I use to plot (HP DesignJet) and then one I got an OCE 9400 printer I would save PLT files and use Print Exec LT. My OCE seems very slow especially if I collate sets. If I run one page multiple times and manually collate the speed of each printout seems to increase. Lately while now using AC10 I have changed to Printing.

Previously (I think back with AC9 or even AC8 w/ PM3) I was having trouble creating PDF's and retaining the Font (MrHand). Forgot if I "fixed" that. Will this be a problem?
