2d script hotspot versus camera view

Anonymous

Hello,

something I noticed since a moment but I never tried to ask for...
When I make an object using the camera view I am able to add
some hotspot in order to pick up the object in 2D where I want.
However when I make an object "myself" without using the camera
the "2d view" does not exist and this option is not available. Of course
it does not matter so much, I can add a 2D script to solve the problem
but it would be nice to have this option available directly in order to win
time. Is there a fashion to do that without passing by the camera view.

Regards

Maybe I do not understand your problem, but have you tried PROJECT2?

It is not really a "huge" problem but when you use the camera
to make a object, archicad write a script somewhere and it is not possible
to see it...where it is ?

So you can add "hotspot" with the * (star tool) directly.
If I save without passing by the camera view I can not do it directly...

So basically what is the difference between "2D full view" and "2D symbol" in the GDL interface

For instance it would be nice to use the PROJECT2 to get your projection
within the "'2D full view" then to copy and paste this projection to
to the "2D symbol" and then add your hotspot where you want.
But it does not work out.

The script generate by the camera view is compiled. But there is probably a way to project to "'2D symbol" instead of "2D full view"
(I will have a look on the GDL documentation)

All this because switching 50 times from prespective to parallel view
when you are making a complex object just to get the projection in the 2D symbol is really a waste of time...but may be (likely) I missed something

The "2D Symbol" is drawn with the 2D tools in the 2D Symbol window for the 2D representation of the object. Except for resizing by the A & B parameters, it is not parametric. The "2D Full View" is generated from the 2D Script (similar to the 3D being generated from the 3D Script), allowing for a great variety of parametric behaviors for the object.

When in the "2D Full View", use the cursor to draw a rectangle around the object (you will get the "marching ants" marquee) and copy, then change to the "2D Symbol" window and paste, you will get the lines, fills and hotspots of the 2D Full View, where you can add additional hotspots.

If you want your parts to be parametric, then the 2D Script is the way to go. The "hotspot2" command is used for adding hotspots in this script.

It does - if you do it in the GDL part windows. Save the object, open the library part, and you can do this.

You can also drag and drop 2D symbol to 2D full view, thereby creating the 2D script.

One disclaimer though: did not try this in 11 yet, but it worked from ... long ago 😉 to 10

Then I do not understand...
I can copy and paste yes. But when I add some hotspot
on the "2D symbol" view, it does it ok but I do not have them
when I use the object in archicad ???

ah ah I got it !!!
I droped form the picture to the 2D script
like from archicad to GDL interface and it writes all the hotspot (this I like)
Huch why I did not think about it
trtricky !!!!!!!!!
Great I will win time with this method
Many thanks for answering to all of you !!

PS : Djordje do you think It should work out without "drag and drop" ?

I know that it WORKED with drag&drop and now you confirmed Let's be satisfied

I don't think copy&paste can work because of the round trip through Windows clipboard.
