License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Beam Lengths

Is there a way to get the correct beam length to schedule?

Its fine if the beam (ArchiCAD part or OneSteel Object) does not have any cut ends, but if you cut the ends it will not schedule the correct length.

See attached screenshot showing a beam with a 45º cut to one end, and how it schedules at 1000 and not the required 1380.

The beam started as 1000 long.

Thanks.

Not unless the object has a parameter that shows the true mitred length of the beam, then you could schedule that parameter rather than the length.

The problem is the mitre simply cuts a bit off or adds a bit on (depending on the angle) and does not actually alter the length of the beam (object).
The only way you could get an accurate beam length with this is to make sure you stretch the beam to the desired length and cut off the bit you don't want with a mitre rather than adding it on.

So its almost exactly 1 year since we raised this question, and im back redoing the template, and wondering if anyone has had any luck in scheduling the actual beam length required in AC19?

Didn't find the answer?
